First and foremost: [sim- PLEG- uh- deez]
I launched Symplegades to partner with and advise intriguing organizations looking to make a meaningful impact. In fact, when I formed my business I spent time thinking about the right name. After some research and creative thinking, Symplegades was born. Why?
In Greek mythology, there was an inspiring story about the endeavors of Jason and the Argonauts. The premise is that ships were always crushed trying to get through the clashing rocks. In order to see that it could indeed be accomplished, Jason set a dove to go through them. The result: the dove passed through these menacing rocks and only lost a single feather. Jason steered his ship and crew through these obstacles and the clashing rocks stopped.
The clashing rocks, otherwise known as the “Symplegades.” My premise: to collaborate with people, teams and organizations on various situations with strategic thinking, creativity and best practices that make an impact on real results — but also enhance the lives of people when possible, while acting socially and environmentally responsible (the aforementioned meaningful impact).
So, as a partner, I interact with, probe and guide them through the clashing rocks of their own organization, business, industry and challenges … hopefully without losing too many feathers!
